How did you prepare your toddler for the arrival of a new baby?

Our new one will be coming in 3 months. I don’t think my daughter, who is 2 this week, quite understands just yet. She knows we have baby stuff & talks about (and to) the new baby, but I don’t think she realizes its going to be here for good. Is there anything I should be doing right now to prepare her for the new baby?

You can’t really prepare THAT much for the baby coming since she won’t really be able to understand it once the baby gets there and the child can see it. You can show your child photos of babies like newborns and tell her that her baby brother or sister is going to be small like that…and also involve her in everything that you do once the baby comes and even now that the baby is not there, have her help you put stuff together like fold clothing…set the diapers out with you…etc. Anything that you can get her to do to help you so she feels more involved that would be great.
