When I entered with my Canon HF S10, my friend said, “We’re shooting with that? Its so small, that’s no good!”?
“We won’t be able to shoot anything with that!”
He obviously judged the camera prematurely based on size. He doesn’t even know that it has been rated as one of the best prosumer camcorders of today, thanks to its large lens and its outstanding image quality. He also kept on saying afterwards, “Bigger is always better!” When I tried to protest, he only lashed back with, “Whatever! Bigger is better!”
I am so furious and annoyed at him! What do you think?
I assume the guy knows nothing about cameras!!!!! Size is not such a big concern today as it was a few years ago. look at laptops, mobile phones, cameras (stills) the list goes on.
The most important thing is the way the camera is used. If the camera operator uses light and audio the best way he can, keeps the subject steady, or at least in the frame then your video is going to be reasonable. You can spend many thousands on a top of the range professional camera but not have a clue how to use it, you are not going to get a good video, ( I have said before in other Answers) you are going to get a poor video in high quality. Its hard to convince someone that you Little camera is as good as a large one ( I find that funny how (trying to think of a word that wont upset people) uneducated some are. I suppose the only way is to give him a demonstration of the quality.
I have had some fantastice results from “small” cameras, you dont want to loose a friendship, its better to educate him, I honestly wish you luck.
